Hair Loss Types
Genetic
Many are surprised to learn the leading cause of hair loss among both men and women. The answer? Genetics. The good news is that you have a choice in stopping it. Both male and female pattern hair loss can be identified through a scalp evaluation that we perform in every hair loss consultation.
Alopecia Areata
Alopecia Areata appears as circular patches of hair loss. This is an immune condition that causes your body to attack any hair bearing area (scalp, facial hair, etc), and can be triggered by immune distress or a variety of other factors.
Telogen-Effluvium (Shock Shedding)
Increased shedding (beyond 80-100 hairs per day) can cause noticeably thinner, diffuse hair. The cause can be anything from hormones to illnesses, postpartum, dietary changes, or internal stress.
There are many additional types of hair loss that can be determined through a scalp analysis, or in a Hair Loss Consultation with our trained team of professionals. Book yours today!
