What is the procedure for obtaining PRP?
During your appointment, a small sample of blood is withdrawn through a very fine needle, similar to a traditional blood draw. The sample is centrifuged for several minutes, where the red blood cells are separated from plasma, other proteins, and platelets in the blood to create the PRP solution. The PRP is then injected into the targeted areas where joint pain or discomfort may be present. Over time, PRP gradually heals joint damage and inflammation on a cellular level.
How many PRP joint injections will I need?
Each patient’s case is very distinctive. By scheduling a consultation with us, we can discuss your wellness concerns in greater specificity and tailor a treatment plan that may help you see the best possible results. It’s important to keep in mind that results may vary from person to person.
Are PRP joint injections safe?
Yes! Since the PRP solution is created with your own blood at the time of your appointment, there is virtually no risk of developing a severe allergic reaction, your body rejecting the formula, or contracting disease.
